Innoven Srl becomes partner of the Bio Based Industries – AFTERLIFE project (http://afterlife-project.eu/)

 The AFTERLIFE project proposes a flexible, cost- and resource-efficient process for recovering and valorizing the relevant fractions from wastewater. It will represent an advance on existing approaches to wastewater treatment, which rely on physic-chemical and biological methods.
The AFTERLIFE process will separate out the different components of value using a series of membrane filtration units that will separate all the solids in the wastewater. These will then treated to obtain high-pure extracts and metabolites or, alternatively, to be converted into value-added biopolymers; polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). In addition to the value extracted from the solids, the remaining outflow of the water will be ultrapure and ready for re-use.
Innoven Srl develops the activities related to the anaerobic digestion of the low value-added organic matter in order to obtain volatile fatty acids (feedstock for the production of PHA) (WP3) and to produce a biofuel (biogas) for the generation of energy within the process (WP4). This way, Innoven Srl has a key contribution in the zero-waste scheme proposed for AFTERLIFE process.

Innoven Srl attended the first annual meeting of H2020 – NoAW project in Lisbon

Innoven Srl attended the meeting as leader of the Work Package 3, which focus on the implementation of a big pilot plant for the conversion of agricultural wastes into high value bioproducts, such as volatile fatty acids, biogas and biopolymers (polyhydroxyalkanoates, PHAs). The activity will take place in the facilities of an existing full scale biogas plant, located in Isola della Scala, Verona.

Innoven Srl attended the “BIC Matchmaking Event in Brussels”

BIC’s industry members have selected 12 of the 16 topics of the 2017 Call, for workshops during the Match Making Event (MME) on 16 February 2017 in Brussels. The workshops was introduced by short ‘pitches’ by industry and academia, followed by extensive discussion. The objective of the workshops was to provide BIC members the best opportunities to make excellent project proposals when the Call is opened.

NoAW intends to explore the potential of agro-waste to be converted into a portfolio of eco-efficient products which are produced using fewer resources and creating less pollution such as bio-energy, bio-fertilizers, bio-packaging and bio- molecules, in symbiosis with urban waste conversion. NoAW also considers environmental and human safety risks which can emerge from circular management of agro-wastes.

Progetto Europeo IntCatch per il monitoraggio del Lago di Garda

IntCatch è un progetto finanziato da Horizon2020 che prevede una flotta di droni acquatici, in grado monitorare lo stato delle acque del lago di Garda attraverso la raccolta di campioni sensori biometrici. I droni consentiranno di monitorare una serie di sostanze e agenti inquinanti come diossine, pesticidi e idrocarburi policiclici aromatici oltre a rilevare la presenza di rifiuti solidi sospesi organici e non. I dati ottenuti saranno prima processati tramite strutture informatiche cloud e taggate poi con un GPS integrato così da essere resi disponibili ai cittadini con un approccio di “citizen science” (partecipazione del pubblico nella ricerca scientifica).

I partner italiani in una ottica multi disciplinare, sono: LabICAB (laboratorio di Ingegneria chimica dell’ambiente e dei bioprocessi dell’Università di Verona), Algorithmica, Azienda Gardesana Servizi, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Personal Genomics (spin-off dell’università veronese) e Technital.
